At Amity Care Services, we believe that high-quality support starts with a team that feels valued, safe, and well. Our Wellness @ Work initiative was created to nurture the wellbeing of our staff — because we know that the work we do can be complex, emotionally demanding, and deeply human.
This program provides a confidential, in-house wellbeing service available to all staff, with access to low-threshold support led by our designated Wellness Coordinator.
It’s a dedicated space for staff to pause, reflect, and receive support from professionals who understand the realities of working in disability and mental health services.
Wellness @ Work complements our existing supervision and professional development structures, creating a well-rounded approach to staff wellbeing that is grounded in trust, autonomy, and care.
Because at Amity, we don’t just care for the people we support — we care for each other, too.
Kristie’s support and psycho-social coaching was an invaluable service provided by Amity. When I was first offered this service, I was overwhelmed with so many emotions , I honestly didn’t think that I would ever get out of that dark cloud that consumed me.
Kristie helped me by finding myself again as I had completely forgotten what I loved and who I was. She helped me come up with small goals for self care that soon became habits, habits that eventually gave me purpose and meaning. If I didn’t complete my goals Kristie helped me recognise the obstacles that were in my way and then we’d slowly come up with solutions. Kristie had many resources and information that guided me throughout our sessions, and if a goal or a task didn’t work out, she was patient with me and helped me find something else.
I am truly grateful for all of her support, for the first time in a longtime, I feel like me again.
